My brother’s fiancée mentioned it casually on a skiing vacation. I tried it out and stuck with it. It’s so easy to get started with this app!
In the first years, I only worked out once per day, but in March 2020, I had a bad bicycle accident in Cuba and was hospitalised there for 10 days. I ended up losing a lot of weight, and my circulation was really low. That’s where I decided to use Seven to get stronger again, and eventually increased my workouts to a maximum of 19 per day! (Nowadays it’s closer to 5 per day.)
I used to be pretty lazy (and probably still am) — it’s the routine that keeps me going. I wasn’t really enjoying exercise most of my life… but starting to work out with Seven is nearly effortless and that helped!
I prefer to work out in private, so anywhere in my apartment (where it doesn’t bother my neighbours).
I enjoy walking and hiking a lot, especially in the Swiss alps where I live. They are stunningly beautiful. You should come and see for yourself!
Yes, I definitely feel physically fitter. For example, I don’t get out of breath as easily as before when mountain walking or running up the stairs.

As a neurologist, I always recommend my patients to exercise regularly, because it helps to prevent migraine, dementia, depression etc. But I know from experience that you often need a personal reason to make it a habit.
Seven really helped me here. On one hand, the humorous chats and the friendly Duels with other Seveners really motivate me to keep going.
On the other hand I noticed that it gets to my mood if I don’t exercise. I once interrupted my daily routine during a family holiday and I felt pretty low for a couple days. I only understood later that it was because I missed my daily workouts!
Seven’s introduction of ‘Live’ workout sessions during the Covid lockdown was a brilliant move, and together with the Duels they turned the app into a sort of virtual gym at home. These friendly competitions and fun chats with other Seven users have been a great motivation for me.
I really enjoy the social aspect of interacting with other users. I’ve chatted with people from all over the world and from all ages and fitness levels! Some are here to lose weight, others look like they just jumped out from a fitness magazine.
The Live sessions, Duels, and the possibility to follow and comment really make a difference for me. And it’s great that all these features are included in the free version of the app, open to the entire community!
There are a few other things I love about Seven. A great feature for me is their customer support, with a real person named Emily, and not a useless bot. Whenever you need help, you can get in touch with her and she’ll get back to you.
It also makes me smile when I find a little entertaining bug in the app. They’re constantly being fixed showing there’s a bunch of dedicated and very human developers behind the curtain. Both adds to the feeling of Seven being a real ‘hand-made’ app.
